Who I am?
Clark Harmonson, a sexual abuse lawyer at Harmonson
Law Firm, has dedicated his career to representing victims of
childhood sexual abuse. Clark began representing clergy abuse
survivors in 2006 as a member of a firm that represents sexual abuse
survivors. Clark has represented numerous survivors of sexual abuse
in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee, Louisiana and
elsewhere since that time. Clark is recognized as a Texas Super
Lawyer Rising Star for 2012 and 2013 (Super Lawyers and Rising Star
are a Thomson Reuters service) and is licensed in Texas, New Mexico
and Arizona.
While I am licensed in Texas, New Mexico and
Arizona, I accept cases nationwide. If you or a loved one were
sexually abused by a priest, member of the clergy or any other person
in authority, please call and speak directly to Clark Harmonson about
your legal rights. Your call is confidential and you will be treated
with respect and compassion. While my office is located in Texas, I
am dedicated to protecting the rights of men, women, and children who
have been sexually abused in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and
throughout the United States by:
Catholic priests, brothers and members of the clergy
Pastors, preachers and evangelists
Youth ministers and assistant pastors
Church employees
Deacons and church elders
Scoutmasters and other scouting leaders
Daycare employees
Public and private school teachers, aides and employees
Hospital and other healthcare facility employees, nurses, assistants and aides
What I do?
I have helped victims of sexual abuse recover significant sums of money against some of the largest organizations in the United States, including the Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts of America, the Assembly of God Church, the Mormon Church and others. While the Catholic Church has received much of the attention in the national media because of its history of sheltering pedophile priests, sexual abuse can happen anytime a person in authority is given access to children. The recent Penn State fiasco involving Jerry Sandusky is but one of many examples. Unfortunately, wherever young people congregate, sexual predators like Jerry Sandusky will prey on the innocent and their supervisors will attempt to cover up their own mistakes. No church or organization is too large or too small to escape accountability. If you or a family member were abused, it is important to speak to a sexual abuse attorney who can assess your legal rights. Please call me today for a free consultation. Harmonson Law Firm helps victims of childhood sexual abuse seek money damages and justice from the perpetrators of sexual abuse and the institutions that employ them. While a civil lawsuit for monetary compensation is an important aspect of the healing process, I understand that it is only part of that process. I have assisted courageous men and women in taking back their lives and providing some closure for their abuse. Survivors of sexual abuse who have had the courage to come forward have changed policies and procedures within churches and other organizations. Their courage in coming forward has led to the arrest and conviction of their perpetrators. I understand that picking up the phone and calling me will be one of the hardest decisions you will ever make in your life. I will be there to support you when you make that decision. Harmonson Law Firm is dedicated to helping in every aspect of putting your life back together after being sexually abused. If you or a family member have been a victim of sexual abuse at your church, school, daycare, scouting troop, hospital or other healthcare facility, contact sexual abuse lawyer Clark Harmonson for a free, confidential consultation.
Is it too late to file a lawsuit?
Shame, fear and embarrassment are common reasons why sexual abuse
victims do not report their abuse. However, you should not have to
bear these burdens as the perpetrators and the organizations that
foster them are truly to blame. No matter when your abuse
occurred, there is hope. While the statute of limitations
varies from state to state, many states have equitable and statutory
exceptions which toll or suspend the running of the statute of
limitations. However, time is of the essence and it is very important
that you do not delay in contacting me. I have successfully fought
the statute of limitations and recovered money for our clients even
in states with very restrictive laws such as Texas. You need an
attorney who has experience dealing with the statute of limitations
and I have that experience. If you or a loved one has been abused by
a priest, any member of the clergy or other persons in authority, no
matter when the abuse occurred, please contact the clergy abuse
lawyers at Harmonson Law Firm to discuss your case. Harmonson Law
Firm offers free initial consultations to clergy abuse survivors and
other survivors of sexual abuse and only takes these cases on a
contingency basis. You will not pay any attorney's fees unless you
obtain compensation.
Our contingent legal fees are computed
before the deduction of case expenses and costs. Our firm advances
the case expenses and costs on our contingency fee cases, and the
client is responsible for case expenses and costs only if a recovery
is made on their behalf. In those cases outside of the states in
which I am licensed, I will associate with a sexual abuse law firm
that has particular experience representing survivors of molestation
and I will stay involved in the litigation by seeking temporary
admission to practice law in that state.
